Meal Planning Friday

We’re still mid-move. I’m sorry I couldn’t post sooner. Geekette got sick and we’ve been dealing with a number of last minute house problems. I plan on posting but it might be another week or two before we can even get all of our stuff into the house and unpacked. Right now I’m just going to focus on one thing at a time. Today that thing is meal planning.

Friday- Coconut Curried Green Lentil Soup with No Knead Bread

Saturday- Apple Meatball Kabobs with Caribbean Rice & Beans

Sunday- Yogurt Chicken with Harvest Soup

Other-

Muffin Mix

Savoury Butter Crackers

Polarity Lockets

I was just checking out Olive Bites today and I have to say, I am in love with the image she chose for her free polarity locket lid. I just requested mine and can’t wait for it to arrive. I am so in love with these lockets! It’s my favorite necklace in fact. It’s so versatile! Most come with 3 lids averaging $20-$22. You can open them up to store a secret image or a tiny note. Add on the free monthly lid and it is an amazingly good deal! I had mine done custom a few months back but she has some super cute images to chose from too. I am personally in love with her Alice in Wonderland pieces but love to “window shop” the Etsy Artist lockets. Let me just say that I’m not getting a single thing for writing this. I don’t know the owner personally or anything like that. I am that in love with my locket! Just thought some of you other ladies might like to know. ^_^

How To Pack The Geekmum Way: Day 1

Step 1. Lay out enough clothes to last you and your loved ones until after the move. In this case it’s about 3-6 outfits.

Step 2. Pack every other soft, non-corset/costume piece you own into large space bags. Don’t forget your plushies or yarn collection.

Step 3. Vacuum the heck out ‘em.

Step 4. Pour yourself a celebratory glass of sweet tea and go back to the sweet joy that is Civ 5.

Fabulously Frugal Fall Fashion Challenge: Stripes!

For those of you not in the know (which is probably everyone since this is only my 2nd blog post here) we’re in the middle of moving. In about 1 week everything I own will have traveled through time and space to end up at what will be our new home.

Of course, that’s not my complete excuse for this challenge. I just plain don’t like white… or horizontal stripes. They’re not figure flattering for a girl like me. I’ll try to do better next time.

I did my best with my muse though. I threw a vest & hat on her after taking our pics with a sky blue poncho & jeans for me. We had a fun fashion day out and it didn’t cost us a penny!

You can find the original challenge and more pics over at Aqua Seventy Six!

I have a new blog!

I can’t help myself. I’m a serial blogger. I have trouble with consistency and my camera has been on the fritz for months now. That’s okay though. I’m getting tired of blogging for other people. This one’s just for me!
